The DBSK saga continues!

DBSK's Junsu, Micky, and Jaejoong will have their first hearing regarding their situation with SM Entertainment on the 21st. An appeal to the courts to suspend the exclusive contract between DBSK and SM Entertainment was made (by DBSK) and if by chance the exclusive contract suspension does not go through, the 3 members will leave the group. Furthermore, it is being speculated that the two members who did not partake in the appeal, Yunho and Changmin, will walk a separate path with three new members.

Considering all this, the reactions of the fans will probably cause absolute chaos. Not only this, but people who are vying for the three open spots of DBSK will also be tearing up a storm to get a chance. DBSK's fan club Cassiopeia is currently boycotting SM Entertainment. With the cancellation of SM TOWN LIVE '09, they began the boycott on the 12th and are continuing to do so.

Of course, people are unsure of which way the wind will blow as of yet. Things with SME may be resolved, but the probability of the group breaking up is also quite real.

Lee MinWoo speaks up on TVXQ

It seems like Cassiopeians aren't the only ones greatly affected by the TVXQ lawsuit controversy these days; KARA's Nicole has revealed her displeasure, and now Lee Minwoo of the legendary Shinwha (previously part of SM Entertainment, interestingly enough) has voiced his opinion on the matter. In a recent magazine interview, he expressed his recognition and respect for TVXQ, and that each member had deep feelings for the group; a few months ago, TVXQ had a chat with him about problems in life. "Backstage, they would hold each others' hands and pray, say good luck; the way they cheer each other on is very similar to [Shinwha]. Because they are a group which has very good team spirit, I believe in TVXQ."

The singer went on to give DBSK a message, "My dear younger brothers, TVXQ does not just belong to TVXQ. Don't think too much and over-complicate things; just keep thinking about your fans who have spent precious times with you and who have always protected you. I hope that all of you can steadfastly protect the proud name of TVXQ. You definitely can't disband, Hyung is counting on you. After the current issue is resolved, the 11 of us should go out and have fun."

FT Island members appeared on KBS JOY ‘Ent News – VIP Interview’ which will air on 21st and revealed their ideal girl.

The youngest Choi Min Hwan said “2NE1’s Sandara Park catches my eyes lately. Even though I never got to talk to her, I like her. If there is time, I want to have tea with her” and received applause from members.

Following this, Lee Hongki revealed “I like After School’s Joo Yeon.” Then Choi Jong Hun said “I like Joo Yeon too” and created the rivalry. Specially Joo Yeon is 23, Lee Hongki and Choi Jonghun are 20. Thereby this is catching attention with just 3 years age difference.

Meanwhile FT Island releFT Islandased their official third album ‘Cross & Change’ last month, entered the top rankings on various music charts with title song ‘I hope’ and are continuing with busy schedule.

"I want to study because of 2PM"




Students chosen for the ‘JYP Center Tour with 2PM Event’ came to the JYP Entertainment Center on August 11, 2009. 2PM members themselves showed the students the recording room and taught them the dances. [Picture by reporter Hwang Jung Ok]

When Hot issue [Section], ‘open study’ king’s magic word [Open! Study] example child becomes crazy about stars and becomes addicted, their parents start worrying a lot. ‘When are you going to study…’. However there are teenagers who study because of stars. This is because they get a ‘reward’ of getting a chance to meet the stars if they raise their grade. A love for stars that can be a disturbance to studying to others actually became a ‘reason to study hard’ to them.


Kids waiting for the celebrities

Afternoon of August 11, 2009, the day it rained really hard because of the typhoon, Mora flower. Students with umbrellas camped in front of the JYP Entertainment Center, located in Seoul Kangnam-Gu Chundam –dong. In the very front, there were about 10 students with nervous looks. These were students who were given special ‘permission’ to personally meet the group 2PM.


In June, on the Internet Education company’s inet-school homepage, there was an event attracting the youth. As a ‘JYP Center Tour with 2PM Event, they were letting students personally meet 2PM. However, there was a catch to it. The students had to create their own creative way to study well. In a month, there were about 1700 entries. The final total number of students chosen was 10. This event was co-planned by JYP Entertainment and inet-school. This was the 2nd time having an event like this; first event was the ‘Meeting with the Wonder Girls’ event.


They meet the stars

3PM. The students chosen for the event with the winning chance of 1:170 (19 students, including the friends of the 10 chosen) entered the JYP building. They seemed tense as if they were going in for an audition. In the odd practice room of the basement, there were chairs neatly set for the students. Along with the introductory comment,”2PM is coming out,” members came to the center of the room, greeting the students. Around 5-6 people showed their excitement quietly. They seemed like they couldn’t believe that there were celebrities right in front of them.

The number of members stood in a straight line was 6. Leader Jaebum wasn’t there. Youngest Chansung explained, “He couldn’t come because he had another schedule.” When the members said their individual greetings, students started cheering. When Chansung asked, “Ask questions,” students who were giving scared glares came out and asked “Why are you so handsome?” “What’s the trick in getting as tall as you?” The answer was simple. “Just eat a lot, whatever you eat.” To the question about sleeping habits, Nickhun answered, “Sometimes, I talk in my sleep in Thai.” Because they were chosen for their way to study well, the students asked, “Did you do well in school?” The members tried to get out of question but Chansung eventually said, “I was in the middle. Everybody’s confident until you get into middle school,” laughing.


They observe the stars’ lives

After a short conversation, the female students begged 2PM to show them their make-up room. As Chansung said, “This is the very first place we come to in the morning,” the students asked, “Do you change here too?” We thought he would say ‘You guys ask strange questions,” but he kindly responded, “There’s another room for that.” Nickhun and Junho showed the students their recording room. Junho said, “The agency singers such as Park Jin Young and NoEul all record here. There are times when we get into trouble in that recording booth.” While showing the video room, Taecyeon stated, “You can see singers when they first debuted. Whenever you’re curious, just walk in there and see.” Wooyoung showed the students the staff office. Wooyoung told the students, “You all study hard, right? It would be nice working with you later sometime.” However, the number of questions was less than what we imagined. When we asked why they weren’t asking questions, one female student said, “How can I ask questions when I’m so nervous that I can’t breathe.”

The members taught the students the main dance of ‘Again & Again.’ When they couldn’t see any students that were doing well, Chansung and Junho explained with details, “Just slip as if you were riding skates,” “You need to move the hands and the feet together.” When Taecyeon professionally showed his part after someone said, “I want to learn Taecyeon’s part,” a few female students screamed, “Ahh!” In the initial plan, they were going to have a chat after learning the dance, but it got cancelled because of the members’ sudden schedule. Instead, the members one by one signed the big 2PM posters. Because of a female student’s request, 2PM signed their name and wrote her a support message.


What is a celebrity to the students?

Im Miryang (Seoul Jamsil High School, 11th Grade) wrote a story about her own grade improvement as her entry to ‘way to study well’ competition. “I studied really hard to meet 2PM. From the final exam, I went up about 5 or 6 ranks in my class.” inet-school’s vice-chief, Lee Jung Hee said, “It’s an event planned as a motivation for the students to study” and explained, “As idols to the students, celebrities can be their life’s advisors.” There are many parents who use rewards to motivate their children to study. Therapist, Oh Ji Hee said, “Moms mostly say, ‘I will let you play video games’ as a reward.” Professor Song In Sup (Sookmyung Women’s University, Department of Education) noted, “A proper reward is intangible rewards such as a praise or a reward that raises confidence, not physical things.” A student that participated in this event, Kim Hyo Jung (Uijeongbu Girls High School 10th grade) was asked, “If there is another opportunity like this in the future, would you study even harder?” She answered, “Of course. I might even become the valedictorian of my grade.”

Netizens disappointed with 2PM’s Chansung



In a scene in an episode of reality show Mnet Wild Bunny, 2PM maknae Chansung was seen to have littered on the show, which has been creating somewhat of a big commotion amongst the netizens

Netizens noticed that after eating his icecream, Chansung put his garbage onto the side and continued to walk as if nothing had happened.

One sharp-eyed commoner screen capped this moment and uploaded it on an internet community site, which netizens replied to with: "Why (would you) put your garbage where you're supposed to put in a newspaper," "Although I like 2PM, how could you commit such an action right in front of the camera," "Although celebrities are humans too, shouldn't (you) be a bit more careful when you're on a program," and etcetera.

Although 2PM's Chansung may not be the brightest crayon out of the box, these hypocrite netizens are seriously overreacting - With celebrities spending most of their lives being followed by a camera, one could easily forget about their surroundings.

Video Shows Man Stealing Choi’s Urn

Officers from the Yangpyeong Police Station said Thursday that the images showed the theft at the cemetery in Yangsuri, Gyeonggi Province. "A man between his late 30s and early 50s approached Choi's tomb, made a hole in the stone tomb with a hammer, and took the urn, around 10 p.m. on Aug. 4, according to the surveillance cameras set up around her burial site," a police official said.

The man stayed around the tomb for about an hour. He did not wear a cap at first, but put it on in the middle of carrying out the act. "He organized the tomb after breaking it, sweeping the debris and wiping it with a damp cloth," he said.

According to the video clips, the crime took place early this month, while police initially suspected it had happened between 6 p.m. on Aug. 14 and 8 a.m. the next day when a janitor at the cemetery found flowers littered around Choi's tomb, the tomb broken and the urn missing.

Right after the incident was reported, police said the surveillance cameras did not work as they had been broken on Aug. 12 after being struck by lightning. But they found footage of the act later while checking the camera recordings between June 27 and Aug. 12 to see whether the suspect had visited in advance.

Police are trying to identify the suspect by investigating those who have been convicted of similar charges. "The investigation is ongoing, but we presume the suspect carried out the crime alone. When we get a clear image of the recording, we'll put him on a wanted list," the officer said.

Choi, who enjoyed a 20-year acting career, committed suicide in October last year at her home in Seoul, allegedly from depression following rumors that she had lent money to the late actor Ahn Jae-hwan, who killed himself a month earlier in the face of snowballing debt.

In a scene in an episode of reality show Mnet Wild Bunny, 2PM maknae Chansung was seen to have littered on the show, which has been creating somewhat of a big commotion amongst the netizens

Netizens noticed that after eating his icecream, Chansung put his garbage onto the side and continued to walk as if nothing had happened.

One sharp-eyed commoner screen capped this moment and uploaded it on an internet community site, which netizens replied to with: "Why (would you) put your garbage where you're supposed to put in a newspaper," "Although I like 2PM, how could you commit such an action right in front of the camera," "Although celebrities are humans too, shouldn't (you) be a bit more careful when you're on a program," and etcetera.

Although 2PM's Chansung may not be the brightest crayon out of the box, these hypocrite netizens are seriously overreacting - With celebrities spending most of their lives being followed by a camera, one could easily forget about their surroundings.

And plus - with the amount of attention 2PM has been receiving lately, all the poor guy needs is just some time off the camera!

hmm...hmm....my stand is that chansung shouldnt have done that knowing that he is a public figure and many pairs of eyes are watching.

THJ episode previews have been released and it has been revealed that in episode
128, Taemin will purportedly have a kiss scene with Shim Eunkyung! Only on the
cheek though. Also, SNSD's Jessica and Sunny will be making cameo appearances in
episode 126. Jessica as Taemin's English tutor and Sunny as another bbang
part-timer.

Episode 126 and 128 will air on the 26th and 28th of August
respectively.

Video Shows Man Stealing Choi’s Urn

Officers from the Yangpyeong Police Station said Thursday that the images showed the theft at the cemetery in Yangsuri, Gyeonggi Province. "A man between his late 30s and early 50s approached Choi's tomb, made a hole in the stone tomb with a hammer, and took the urn, around 10 p.m. on Aug. 4, according to the surveillance cameras set up around her burial site," a police official said.

The man stayed around the tomb for about an hour. He did not wear a cap at first, but put it on in the middle of carrying out the act. "He organized the tomb after breaking it, sweeping the debris and wiping it with a damp cloth," he said.

According to the video clips, the crime took place early this month, while police initially suspected it had happened between 6 p.m. on Aug. 14 and 8 a.m. the next day when a janitor at the cemetery found flowers littered around Choi's tomb, the tomb broken and the urn missing.

Right after the incident was reported, police said the surveillance cameras did not work as they had been broken on Aug. 12 after being struck by lightning. But they found footage of the act later while checking the camera recordings between June 27 and Aug. 12 to see whether the suspect had visited in advance.

Police are trying to identify the suspect by investigating those who have been convicted of similar charges. "The investigation is ongoing, but we presume the suspect carried out the crime alone. When we get a clear image of the recording, we'll put him on a wanted list," the officer said.

Choi, who enjoyed a 20-year acting career, committed suicide in October last year at her home in Seoul, allegedly from depression following rumors that she had lent money to the late actor Ahn Jae-hwan, who killed himself a month earlier in the face of snowballing debt.
