SM TOWN Live in Singapore
Thursday, December 6, 2012
SM Town Live in Singapore was absolutely magical. I had been waiting for this since forever and it felt like a dream come true. One that I didn’t believe was actually possible when I started my fan girl journey. So it was with excited and happy hearts that Doreen and I went got SM Town Live in Singapore!!
It started off terribly. The queues were horrible, and too many EXO fans were everywhere. We had to literally fight our way in. I was separated with my friends and we were afraid we were going to end up in different mosh pits. Luckily we ended up together, but after getting tagged we escaped the queue to go get a drink. We came back to a slight drizzle and a large space where we cut our way in as there was no shelter. Hence, we got to stand in the rain for quite a bit, complete with lightning and thunder a full blown rainstorm. Shivering in our raincoats, huddled under our umbrella holding heavy bags and our fanboards. Luuckily, the rain stopped in time for the concert to begin.
When the concert started it was amazing. Getting to see all these amazing people upclose, knowing that they were real. Knowing that they were performing their hearts out, putting in their best to ensure the fans enjoyed themselves really made me feel touched.
I have my biases, but I really couldn’t decide my favourite performance of the night. I loved them all. I had seen most of them individually at separate events before but seeing them together, made the night magical.
I just want to gush on and on about how Changmin was all too charismatic on stage and made me fall in love with him all over again, or how friendly Tiffany was like, exactly like a Disney princess, or how pretty Yoona and Jessica are in real life, and how I was so glad to see Kangin come back together as part of Super Junior again, or how splendid Jonghyun’s body has turned out and how precious the Super Junior boys were being, acting there this was their concert at the end. OH, AND WE SAW QUEEN BOA LIVE!
My money is spent on having great experiences, and this was no doubt one of them. Every time I see Super Junior, or TVXQ or SNSD perform live, I am reminded of why I love them so much, and why my love for them is all worth it.
They have helped me get through life in their own ways, putting smiles on my face when I needed it, giving me the motivation to carry on and most of all, having something to look forward to in the future. I have always felt grateful to them for so many reasons, and getting to see the people who have such a big part in my life in ways they never know, it really means a lot to me. It seemed so impossible at one point, and getting to attend a SM Town concert just proves to me that I am unlocking my achievements one at a time, no matter how impossible they might seem now.
It was a wonderful concert. Mood didn’t get dampened by the rain, there were fabulous pyrotechnics, water fountains and most importantly of all, the people of SM TOWN. Fandoms came together to cheer their favourite idols working side by side. A concert I will never forget.
No pictures as Doreen and I were too busy spending out time enjoying the performances, waving lightsticks and fanboards at out idols, singing along and cheering for them.
To make up for it, here are some pictures I got off Google.
I've been listening to BoA's new album for some weeks now, and what i can really say is that I'm really thankful for this album. Especially for the title track "Only one", it is too precious for the current kpop scene which is "infested" with genric autotuned dance tracks.
I was even more amazed when i learned that this song was self-composed and self penned by BoA herself! It's a gem. With the strong dance moves (and her very soft & innocent style!) by BoA, this comeback is perfect. However, its quite a shame that this song did't do as well as it deserves, thanks to the whole Gangnam shit (like seriously?).
Anyway, BoA really lives to inspire others.
The effort and dedication she puts into her work is really really really impressive.I think this isn't the first time we did a post on how we are inspired and motivated by her. Haha! Truth is, i get so touched and inspired by her whenever i watch a video of her. She is just a pure living legend.
Well she might be goddess-like in most of our eyes (like, there's nothing BoA can't do), watching her recent interview made me realised that BoA is in fact a normal human being like us.In the interview, she is like this innocent and humble puny little girl who wants to show the world what she has got.
In short, she is REAL. And for her, like us, there are also times where loneliness kicks in and hands from every where trying to push you off the edge.
I guess what we really gotta to learn from her is to keep trying and do your very best! Never give up! Everyone has a chance to shine, if you don't give up.
From debut till today, BoA has indeed came a long way. Watch her comeback special interview below and tell us what you think!
(She's so gorgeuos by the way!!!!)
SNSD wants to ride on a time machine. Do you want to too? Well, I was reading this post on idol group debuts and thought of the debuts of many other groups. So this Time Machine special edition was created to relieve the good old (embarrassing) times of your oppas and unnies.
This is actually the post of LQ videos.
Solo Artists Edition!
Lee Hyori (Doreen loves her or used to anyway!)
Here is an extremely LQ video of her performing her debut song as a solo artist.
OMG. Look at how much technology has improved! I really cannot tell properly what we are watching on that video. But she still owns the stage!
BoA
One of the very first Kpop acts I listened to. Remember Jewel Song? Every heart? Valenti?
Her debut stage!
Look at how tiny she is among the big big dancers but she still manages to hold the stage pretty well!
And because this song is flawless.
Rain
Im gna throw in this Full House clip cause, who doesnt love Full House?
One of the very first Korean Idol Dramas!
Kim Jong Kook
How can you not love this also?
Not his debut stage or whatever but...
Lena Park
I dont know if anyone remembers but she used to be really big?
Song and vocals are awesome btw, cant hurt to just hear this!
IU
This is still one of the favourite of my songs! Before she started the whole BOO/Marshmellow shit which wasnt really her.
Younha
She is so underrated. But i really love this old song of hers!
Hwayobi
I knew her from We Got Married and she was adorable there! The coupling with Hwanhee!
Gummy
K. Will
Not a very handsome guy, but can sing nevertheless.
Conclusion: Solo artistes are so underrated these days besides IU. They have been totally overshadowed by idol groups sigh. And they are so talented.
This is a random post to spazz about random kpop news!
Secret is trying to break into the China market. Can I say whew! Finally, somewhere other than the US/Japan market. I mean yay!
Meanwhile Kim Hyun Joong continues to be flawless while donating money anonymously. Watch out, Jung Yunho, flawless competitor is hot on your heels!
Oh don't be shy, you lovely boy.
In other news, Beast is preparing to takeoff conquering the world with their world tour, Beautiful Show. And coming to Singapore at that. We've seen them live and it's really quite good, but having to pay/queue for a concert is entirely a different think. I love Beast and all, but its not Super Junior so I have to consider about that.
Dongwoon ah, mianhaeyo, noona ga don oppseoyo!
SM Entertainment and TS Entertainment are going to be debuting new boybands soon, all I can hope is that they arent too devastatingly gorgeous because they are probably going to be very young and its a shitty feeling noonas all over the world will feel: the extreme pedophile feeling when lusting after young boys. (cue pedo bear appears)
Tsk, wahlau.
Some BoA here! Jewel Song ftw!
Let's end it off with LeeSsang releasing a new MV featuring Haha and Kwang Soo.
Hilarious!
Okay, byebye everyone, Im off to watch the rest of the Christmas videos!
AWWE. i just saw this ranking of SME's ranking within Super Junior!
This was not from fan votes; the ranking below was determined by SMEnt staff. (No Hangeng.)
1. Kim Jongwoon (Yesung) 2. Kim Ryeowook 3. Cho Kyuhyun 4. Lee Sungmin 5. Lee Donghae 6. Kim Youngwoon (Kangin) 7. Park Jungsoo (Leeteuk) 8. Choi Siwon 9. Kim Heechul 10. Kim Kibum 11. Lee Hyukjae (Eunhyuk) 12. Shin Donghee (Shindong)
Cr: SJ Baidu Trans by stalker93@ sapphirepearls.com Take out with full credits!
I don't really care about the top 9 cos they all sing amazingly well. BUT WHY THE HECK IS KIBUM AT 10 AND EUNHYUK BELOW HIM AT 11?
MAKES NO SENSE! I see eunhyuk's role in superjunior slowly shifting from solely rapper to rapper+singer. He had quite abit of part in songs from the new albummmm and he really can sing! As for KiBum....HUH? Non-existing voice????
How can non-existing voice > eunhyuk's . I DONT GET IT!
This would be my ranking (including hangeng) :
1.Yesung 2.KyuHyun / Ryeowook (they both are equally talented to me!) 3.Sungmin 4.Donghae 5.Kangin 6.Siwon (sexay voice ftw) 7.Heechul 9.Eunhyuk 10.Lee Teuk 11.HanKyung 12.Shindong
Kibum should not be in the ranking at all to ensure fairness. omg please, simple logic. I have been a sj fan for years and my memory of kibum's voice is stucked at the rapping part of U. Hankyung has tiny parts but at least i can differentiate his voice!
KIBUM, pls get ur ass out of movie screens(cos its obviously not working), and back to suju.
Anger aside.
Here's our Queen BOA with sj magnae Kyuhyun!
How nice to see the Queen with our suju boys. Im so glad that boa is backkk! Hurricannneee Venusss! I love her the best when she is back n korea~
Anw, some fans also mentioned..
Heechul was saying this on his radio show.
Heechul: Yesterday (I) went drinking with Boa & Kyuhyun… Kyuhyun said a lot… (He) said that during his injury period in the accident, everyone came to accompany him, he was very happy, but when he has something happy to share, it seems like there’s no one around him to be happy with… So I told him when (he’s) happy, being alone is happy, being with strangers is also happy, so it doesn’t matter anymore, but I’ve also been in an accident before, being hospitalized, I know what’s the feeling of lying in the hospital alone.. So don’t mind too much… We actually chatted a lot… but (there’s) limited time, so (I’ll) just mention these… I’m often with Donghae now, in the future (I) will also dote more on Kyuhyun. The last song of today (let’s) listen to Kyuhyun’s <7>.
You’re probably wondering why Korea’s biggest pop star would get street cast after 10 years of working as a singer. Well it turns out, there are people out there who can’t recognize BoA.
In an interview with OSEN, BoA revealed, “I’ve been street cast recently.”
With the release of her sixth album Hurricane Venus around the corner, she visited Seoul Shinsadong with her staff members to take a break. While walking, someone approached her and asked if she was a model. They then asked her if she would be interested in becoming a celebrity.
BoA was too embarrassed to say that she was BoA so she just told the person that she was a celebrity that’s not that famous. BoA added, “I think they thought I was a model because it was late at night and they couldn’t see my killer heels.”
BoA left the scene shortly after but one of her staff members told her that someone informed the person that she was BoA and the person responded, “That’s what BoA looks like?”
Its a slow week here at Super-Kpop we know, with little updates and less artwork to share, cause its the examsssss! The dreadful A levels and End of Year exams. So anyway, decided to talk about random kpop stars today. I don't know, it feels like a talk about random stuff day to me.
This is my favourite GIF of all time!
Key my man, you are da best! Check out his awesome gangsta expression!
And Jongkey is so adorable!
They both belong in the same category!
And this, is Oasis, by my new love boy groupie B2st. I really really like this song. its a good song to listen in this current rainy season.
I swear, their whole album is full of lovely songs. Just can't stop listening to it~♥ I reall ylike DooJoon's and Yoseob's vocals and Dongwoon is so cute~ and AJ too! Woarrrrr ♥
I stumbled upon this when I was listening to the old old BoA's Best of Soul. This song is Meri Kuri and its lovely!
Its been very long since BoA's long string of hits. Now its all USA. :( Where did the era of Jewel Song, Valenti, Shine we are and Listen to me heart go? I miss the BoA era! At least her latest Jap single White Wishes is :)!
Talking about missing, since SJM is back in China extensively promoting, yet they don't come to Singapore where we learn Chinese as a mother tongue. :( Come to Singapore SJM! I sort of miss Super Junior too! :(
Full house, EHB, etc, I know I'm greedy but I WANT MORE.
:) This year, in A NATION 09, there is going to be TOHOSHINKI and BoA!
Yay! SM ROCKS! And Boa is short. I say this everytime I see her in group pictures. My favourite guy in whole world, Changmin is looking awesome! And Micky, sigh, please change your again sometime again soon! But why Tenjochiki The Grace? They went for A Nation 07 I think!
On the 15th, AVEX announced the second half of the list of artistes participating. BoA is finally able to take time out of her busy schedule, and will be attending the opening on 1st August, as well as the 2 large-scale performances that will be held in Tokyo on the 23rd and 24th August.
Tohoshinki, who have already confirmed their participation in April, will be attending the opening on 1st August. Following that, they will be joining Japan’s top artistes in Ehime on the 8th August, Tokyo on the 22nd and 23rd, as well as the performances in Osaka on the 29th and 30th.
This year’s “a-nation 09″ will have it’s opening at Kumamoto National Park (Kyuushuu) on 1st August, followed by the usual 1 month concert tour within Japan. Besides BoA and Tohoshinki, other top singers include My Little River, Koda Kumi, Every Little Thing, and more.
A Nation rocks cause its a whole country tour with some of the biggest Jpop artistes! And I dont see Big Bang anywhere here. :) And I still think its unfair that Big Bang is going to hold some event at the Tokyo Dome before Tohoshinki! Shall anti Big Bang for a while even if I really like their music.
TVXQ and BoA are some really busy busy busy people. Source: [搜狐 + heyjj] Translation credits: mandasoh@iscreamshinki.net Shared by: sharingyoochun@wordpress, wishdreamx3@lj
AGAIN AND AGAIN, GEE tops the MUsic Bank charts for the 9th time! Apprently its gonna be a record that other people will find damn hard to beat.
But Super Junior's Sorry Sorry had just been released. So, we will see how it goes next week. Either way, SM RULES!
Rise of BoAThe new face of Forever21? Anyway, that girl is really good. I think she will be more successful breaking into USA than the other korean artistes who have attempted to do so. (E.g, Wondergirls, Se7en) She is like, multilingual and multi talented and her style is more suited to their tastes. I can see those BoA fans rushing to buy Forever21 stuffs already! I really love how celebrities have the power to generate the economy. :)

"I grew 20cm in a year by drinking banana milk." - Nana, After School/Orange Caramel
News Asia, August 2010
"Yubin takes in everything. Because of that, I would always whine and let my anger out on her, saying that I’m tired. She would always be understanding, so I’m sorry.” - YeEun, Wonder Girls
Mnet Made in Wonder Girls, October 2010
"The music of ‘Love Light’ was written some time ago. When I thought of you (Seohyun), I started to put in the lyrics for the song. For the rap part, I thought of SNSD’s ‘Tell Me Your Wish’ and that was how ‘I’m genie for you girl’ came about.” - YongHwa, C.N Blue
Confession to Seohyun (SNSD) on MBC's WGM, 9 October 2010
"I really thought you were a tree."- Leeteuk, Super Junior
in response to Eunhyuk wearing brown from head to toe during their trainee days; KBS Sukira Radio, 20 October 2010
“I think, not just Thai people, but anybody could be in my spot. Because I started below zero, you know; I had no singing background, no dancing, nothing. I think it's a matter of how hard you work and how much you want it.”
-Nickhun, 2PM
(Nichkhun: The 'shy little boy' turned K-Pop sensation, CNNgo, 8 November 2010)
“If there’s one thing we genuinely wish for, it’s for all nine of our SNSD members to go together until the end.”
-Girls' Generation
(In an interview after winning Golden Disk Daesang awards, Daily Sports News
, 9 December 2010)
“Minho hyung has big eyes, well-defined features, and good style. So I thought he was not a Korean (laugh). He stuttered when he talked to me maybe because he’s introverted, so I thought he’s younger than me. Key hyung made a strong impression from the beginning for his showy fashion (laugh).”
-Taemin, SHINee
(Japanese Magazine ORISUTA,June 2011)
“My baby tummy which was a patent of mine disappeared suddenly one day. Our fans said my tummy then was cute, but where has it gone?”
-Sungyeol,INFINITE
(INKIGAYO MAGAZINE,August 2011)
“We don’t really think of ourselves as rivals with SNSD. There are things they can do, and we have things we can do… I hope each can become a group that can be a source of strength and consolation for many people.”
-SunYe,Wonder Girls
(MBN INTERVIEW,November 2011)

SM TOWN Live in Singapore
Yay! SM ROCKS! And Boa is short. I say this everytime I see her in group pictures. My favourite guy in whole world, Changmin is looking awesome! And Micky, sigh, please change your again sometime again soon! But why Tenjochiki The Grace? They went for A Nation 07 I think!
The new face of Forever21? Anyway, that girl is really good. I think she will be more successful breaking into USA than the other korean artistes who have attempted to do so. (E.g, Wondergirls, Se7en) She is like, multilingual and multi talented and her style is more suited to their tastes. I can see those BoA fans rushing to buy Forever21 stuffs already! I really love how celebrities have the power to generate the economy. :)
