kpop in Singapore
Saturday, October 27, 2012
Gone are the days when it seemed impossible to attend a kpop concert in Singapore. Besides the rare few like Rain and Shinhwa, nobody nobody ever came. I had to write to concert/event companies to try and persuade them to bring kpop artistes like TVXQ and Super Junior in which they would then reply, oh the market is not big enough, not enough fans etc. But look how wrong they are, kpop is seriously the biggest thing to earn money that is now. Concert prices are incredibly insane, idols sell out their concerts and have to do 2 day shows. Everyone is looking to exploit the overseas market!
Look at the recent example,
NU'EST in SINGAPORE.
$500 for a ROOKIE group even to stalk them during their entire Singapore journey is really quite ridiculous.
With $500 let's take a look at what other KPOP events we can attend.
going to concerts with the best seats,
a) BIG BANG galaxy live tour concert + SM TOWN LIVE (my pick!)
b) BIG BANG galaxy love tour concert + 2NE1 New Evolution Global Tour (for the YG fans)
c) SHINee World Concert II + SM TOWN LIVE (ultimate SHINee fans)
d) SHINee World Concert II + 2NE1 New Evolution Global Tour (for those who want an exciting December)
or
a) BIG BANG galaxy live tour concert + SM TOWN LIVE + 2NE1 New Evolution Global Tour + SHINee World Concert II (all with the worst seats)
Still a winner. I guess it is okay if you are a NU'EST fan? But seriously. NO. Stop exploiting us! We love our oppas and unnis but WE ARE NOT MADE OF MONEY!
I say that yes, but I am totally willing to go for concerts which I feel are worth it like SM TOWN!
Big Bang is wonderful at hyping up the atmosphere. Their songs just get people on their feet, jumping and dancing around. I absolutely loved it.
I just felt so happy when they performed Haru Haru because that is my absolutely favourite BB song. They did the slow version but it was still amazing nonetheless.
I fell in love with Daesung that night. He looked a lot better in real life and he was so sweet and adorable. His smile just dazzled me off my feet. When he did his wings solo and walked out with that huge pair of fluffy wings, I am like hey angel~
Seungri was also damn handsome! :)
Will definitely go for another Big Bang concert in the future! Worth the sweat, the wait, the money and my love!
People have been sending in stuff for us to share, so here we go!
One
DJ Froto has sent in his remix-ed version of G-Dragon's One of A Kind.
I like the remix its good, unfortunately, it is after a video medium.
The video can be more interesting. Lengthy shots of equipment can really be... not that interesting.
Two
A group of French Hip Hop dances has decided to remix Big Bang's Fantastic Baby!
It has a detailed plot describing dancers struggling to liberate the world from anti-music dictatorship. The costumes and make up are pretty elaborate so that is nice.
Good effort! And its awesome they are spreading more Kpop love to France!!
Hello everyone, christmas is upon us and being in this very christmasy mood, I would like to share some songs which fit this season!
1. Love Love Love - After School
See, its even snowing in the mv!
2. My J - SNSD
Bells always - christmas!
3. Be my Baby - Wonder Girls
Wonder Girls seems so lost and forgotten in their comeback but I love this song so Im adding it here. It is so happy and cheery which is what christmas should be about, full of good stuff!
4. You and I - IU
YESSS! This MV more than the song reminds me of Christmas though!
5. Only Love - SM Town
What is a christmas song list without one of the SM Town Christmas album?! Besudes, Zhang Li Yin has already hinted there might be a Christmas album for 2011! :D Let's await that surprise!
6. This Christmas - JYP Nation
Another group christmas song. This time by JYP. Even looking at the mv alone makes me feel all warm and fuzzy and enjoying the Christmas spirit! Smell it already?
7. Love Letter - Son Bambi and After School
Look! They are already having their christmas party! And they all look damn gorgeous here!
8. Jingle Bell Rock - Various Artistes
Ending off with a real Christmas song!
SINGAPORE REALLY NEEDS SOME COLD WEATHER + SNOW TO MAKE IT A MAGICAL CHRISTMAS.
Oh right, do join our december giveaway to win some snsd socks! Either to keep your fit warm or to hang it up, when Santa sees you support SNSD, or sees the pretty SNSD on your socks he might gift you with some extra stuff! ;)
We did an article here on how Big Bang was one of the nominees for the Worldwide Act. Well well, look what has happened.
CONGRATULATIONS BIG BANG ON WINNING THE WORLD WIDE ACT AT THE EMAs!!!!
This is so amazing! For a kpop act to win over big names like Britney it is serious, woah, hello to world domination! All you VIPs are awesome or whuttttt?
P/s: What is up with lumping India, Middle East and Africa together for the nominees?!?! Do they even listen to the same music?!

Mnet Made in Wonder Girls, October 2010
"The music of ‘Love Light’ was written some time ago. When I thought of you (Seohyun), I started to put in the lyrics for the song. For the rap part, I thought of SNSD’s ‘Tell Me Your Wish’ and that was how ‘I’m genie for you girl’ came about.” - YongHwa, C.N Blue

"I really thought you were a tree."- Leeteuk, Super Junior
in response to Eunhyuk wearing brown from head to toe during their trainee days; KBS Sukira Radio, 20 October 2010
“I think, not just Thai people, but anybody could be in my spot. Because I started below zero, you know; I had no singing background, no dancing, nothing. I think it's a matter of how hard you work and how much you want it.”

“Minho hyung has big eyes, well-defined features, and good style. So I thought he was not a Korean (laugh). He stuttered when he talked to me maybe because he’s introverted, so I thought he’s younger than me. Key hyung made a strong impression from the beginning for his showy fashion (laugh).”

“My baby tummy which was a patent of mine disappeared suddenly one day. Our fans said my tummy then was cute, but where has it gone?”
-Sungyeol,INFINITE
