Is Hankyung’s contract termination request a publicity stunt?
When the scandal regarding Super Junior member Hankyung's request to terminate his contract with SM Entertainment broke out recently, the Korean and Chinese media immediately began scrambling to dig deeper into this issue and read between the lines.
ifeng.com recently held a poll to see how E.L.F members were taking the situation; an overwhelming number of people speculate that this is SME's attempt to create a succès de scandale to raise sales for Super Junior's upcoming concert.
According to the poll, approximately 80% of the fans believed that SM Entertainment had created this controversy in order to hype up Super Junior's upcoming concert in China on January 23, 2010 by conjuring a controversy around Super Junior's single Chinese member. Many don't buy into the coincidence that the tickets went on sale to the public on the 18th, a mere three days before the Hankyung scandal surfaced.
Personally, I have no opinion on the situation yet because there isn't enough information out... but at this point, what's your take on this matter - is Hankyung a victim of a slave contract, a marketing scheme or not a victim at all?

Especially since dbsk's lawsuit thing died down abit, the other shits flying here and there over our heads were of artiste of other company such as jaebeom's returns and G-Dragon's unaccepted behaviour in his concert...So despite SNSD's mega successful concert, LSM needs moar moar moar attention than this.

This is Kim Heechul, whose name became known through the popular idol group Super Junior. But if you take a look, his debut project was actually KBS 2TV’s 2005 Sharp 2 [반올림2], which means that the label “singer-turned-actor” is not accurate to describe him.
Therefore, Kim Heechul’s return to television in the new SBS weekend drama Love You Ten Million Times [천만번 사랑해] isn’t a deviation from his course but actually a return to his original profession. He makes his return a year and seven months after his last television role, the SBS drama Golden Bride [황금신부], which wrapped its broadcast run on February 3, 2008.
An honest confession: “At one time, I wanted to leave Super Junior”
Kim Heechul once wanted to leave Super Junior. They’re one of the mainstays of the pop industry and receive a lot of love, but he thought the group was like clothing that didn’t suit him.
“When I look back at the past several years, I was a really willful kid. I even kicked up a fuss over why I had to sing given that I debuted as an actor. It was a frequent occurrence to have to suddenly go onstage for Super Junior activities as I was shooting a drama. So I wanted to leave Super Junior. And it’s not like I’m an outstanding singer, truthfully…”
In the past few years, Kim Heechul has felt, “I want to quit being a singer and focus on acting.”
Unable to make up his mind, his relationships became estranged from the other members of Super Junior. The younger members began to look askance at their contrary hyung Heechul, and the distance grew between them.
But ah… the Super Junior members caused tears in the eyes of Kim Heechul, who describes himself as having been selfish.
“One day, I went to the practice studio after not going for a while because I was filming a drama, and the other members said, ‘Hyung, we set aside a spot for you when we practiced. You can just come in later.’ I had only thought of myself, but it gave me a heavy heart to see them looking after me. [Smiles]”
He was caught by some unknowable emotion that welled up from deep inside. Kim Heechul ran off to the restroom to shed some tears.
“The tough times have passed for Super Junior… now teamwork is best!”
That’s how Kim Heechul was moved by Super Junior’s love. That’s the moment that his wandering heart decided to make Super Junior his eternal home.
“I think the tough times have passed now. I’ve turned over a new leaf and opened my troubled heart to them frankly, and now I don’t know how I’d live without those guys. That’s why we even went on a trip recently. We all stripped naked and ran around and tore down the walls in our heart that had formed unknowingly.”
He boasted, “Now the teamwork in Super Junior is the strongest in the world.” Perhaps that’s why when talking of his acting return, he also talks of his pride in the members along with his new project.
“I once wanted to leave the team to go act, but I have to be loyal to the members who treat me so well. Hahaha. Super Junior is my eternal home. I want to live happily singing with the group, acting, doing MC work, and being active in many different areas.”
Kim Heechul closed by adding, “Acting isn’t a side project, but a longtime dream for me. In the way that I showed my personality onstage as a singer, I want to show colorful acting as well.”

Mighty Mouth "We get strength whenever we're on stage with Nicole"
Mighty Mouth expressed their gratitude to their featuring partner, Kara's Nicole (Jung Nicole).
Nicole has been Mighty Mouth's third partner for their title track "Love class", since August 26th, and has since performed with them.
Kara has been close friends with Mighty Mouth since before their debut, hence the 'Maskara' (mouth kara) line. Because of this, Nicole's performance with Mighty Mouth compared to their other partners has been noticeable, with her being more bright and lively.
From a recent call between Newsen and Mighty Mouth, they have told us, "Thanks to Nicole, it feels great when we're on stage. TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki members Xiah, Micky, and Jaejoong were trying to make efforts to resolve the issues with SM Entertainment behind the scenes but it seems all talks of coming to an agreement have broken apart. Korean Media Outlet Newsen recently had a phone conversation with the court overseeing the issue.
In the phone conversation, the court stated that it'll be all up to them to come up with the resolution as both sides despite talks of resolution, will not budge from their initial stances. They continued by stating that they're thoroughly reviewing all the papers, documents, and evidence given. After this thorough investigation, both parties will be notified of the decision. The Court stated that they don't know when exactly they'll come up with the decision but that it should be sometime this month.
As the talks have broken down, it seems there's no chance of resolution outside the courts. Hopefully the courts come up with a fair and firm decision

Big Bang GDragon has been labelled as a ‘herbivorous guy’.
GDragon did a test on how much of a ‘herbivorous guy’ he is on the show SBS Kim JungEun’s Chocolated aired on 19th September.
It has been known that GDragon has become the new representative of ‘herbivorous guy’ in the entertainment zone with his unique fashion sense.
GDragon was asked to answer a series of questions with ‘O’ or ‘X’ answer - “I have a lot of girl friends but there is no case of development into lovers”, “I can hold a computer dinner with alcohol’ etc. And most of his answers were ‘O’ and MC Kim JungEun has labelled him as a ‘perfect herbivorous guy’.

It's well known that TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki's Jaejoong is very popular with the ladies in Japan. Despite not being Japanese, he was in the top 10 ranking for the "Top 10 Artists You Want As Your Lover" poll and also awarded "The Top Prince in Japan." Now, he can add another title as one of Japan's most best looking artists.
On CDShop's Tsutaya Online there was a poll with the title "Most attractive Male Singer," Jaejoong came in second place with 23.9% (632,202) votes, only trailing Hotaka Yamashita (Ikimono Gakari) with 30.7% (810658) votes. Jaejoong wasn't the only TVXQ member with votes as his fellow bandmates were respectively ranked as well: Micky Yoochun at #11, Xiah Junsu at #27, Changmin at #32, and Yunho at #34. Surprisingly, another Korean artist was in the ranking as well and that was T.O.P. of Big Bang who came in at #35.

JYP's STATEMENT "2PM will continue with 6 members"
JYP finally made a statement on JYPE homepage :
I talked to JYPE staffs, 2PM members, and Jaebeom about our future plans. First of all, although many people have sent their encouraging words to Jaebeom, he hasn’t changed his mind; thinking he made a huge mistake. He said that he is still very sorry and too ashamed to be on the stage. He also told me that since other 2PM members have worked so hard, they should not be affected by this in any negative ways. That’s why he left 2PM so quickly.
I think the same way as Jaebeom. The reason why I didn't stop him from leaving is because I thought whether Jay being in 2PM or not now won’t be that big deal when you look at his life as a whole. Some think 4 years of his hard working has been destroyed, but his skills that were built up in 4 years are still remained in his body.
If Jaebeom receives a chance to grow up and become more mature by this incident, he will be able to fly even further later on. As criticism against Jay was way too harsh, requesting to revoke Jay's resignation is asking for too much as well. It’s my role to respect his opinion wanting to have his time alone apart from the stage, and help him later when he says he wants to be on the stage again.
I think you should give him supports by then. Again, I apologize for not being able to manage and protect him well. We'll try our best to not make this happen again

Big Bang - SNSD, No.1 popularity for male and female singers for the second half of the year
Big Bang and So Nyuh Shi Dae took the first places for the category of "singers" in an entertainer popularity ranking for the second half of the year.
From the 25th to the 31st of August, the results for the "Entertainer Popularity Survey" were determined by the Leespiar Research Institute with the participation of 1,320 males and females with an age range of 13~65 in 5 cities from around the country (metropolitan area, Busan, Daegu, Gwangju, Daejeon).
So Nyuh Shi Dae took the first place (31.8%) in the female category in this time's survey overwhelmingly through their new song "Tell Me Your Wish" amidst the rise and battle of the girl groups and the girl group wave while Wonder Girls haven't had any activities in Korea due to their activities in the U.S..

Super Junior arrives in Hong Kong; Kangin avoids the media
Super Junior arrived in Hong Kong yesterday in preparation of the Hong Kong leg of their Super Show 2 Live Tour, and Kangin who was involved in a case of drunken brawling did not appear at the press conference, even though he’d touched down together with the rest of his members.
Another member, Kibum, on the other hand, did not take part in the concert because of his injury.
During yesterday’s press conference, the media’s main focus was on what the other members felt about Kangin’s involvement in the drunken brawl case. Heechul, who donned a facemask throughout, replied that Super Junior will always work hard, and they thanked everyone for their concern.
Super Junior even showed off a few lines of Cantonese, in the spirit of doing as Romans do in Rome, but unfortunately no one could understand a word of what they were saying.
All 12 members will have their own special stages during the concert, and Ryeowook revealed that he would be cross-dressing as a woman, and Donghae will perform a song while riding on a bicycle.

KBS boycotts YG Entertainment – f(x) Sulli the reason behind it? (warning : extremely bad translation)
It has been known that YG Entertainment has been boycotted by KBS 2FM. The radio station will boycott all appearances by YG singers. This was sparked off by a sudden no-show by GDragon on Sukira on 15th September, and KBS 2FM had refused to play any YG singers’ song on the station for the whole of that day.
And it was questioned if the dispute between the YG Ent and KBS 2FM was due to GDragon mentioning f(x) Sulli in his earlier radio show appearance.
▶ Was f(x) Sulli the problem for no-show on radio show?
KBS 2FM said on 18th September, “On 15th September, with the sudden non-participation of GDragon for our radio show Sukira, we have gone against the trust given by listeners. With that we have decided to put a boycott against YG singers indefinitely.”
On the 15th itself, KBS 2FM did not aire any of the songs by YG singers.
There were originally plans for GDragon to appear on ‘Super Junior Kiss The Radio (Sukira)’ show, and the production team to Sukira said, “GDragon was originally set to appear on the show on 15th September, but they suddenly said that they will not have him on the show on the 10th. And even with the request of our team, they have broken their promise and did not let him go on the show.”
Even though Sukira’s production team has tried to persuade for GDragon to appear on the show by posting on their homepage, YG managers did not even apologise or give an explanation to GDragon’s no-show after that.
One of the producers said, “YG Ent said that when GDragon were asked the question “Which junior girlgroup singers do you think is the cutest?” and he answered f(x) Sulli on 9th September on one of the radio shows on 9th September, it became a problem and it is difficult to have him go on radio show. But in the schedule shared by GDragon and his fans, it was stated that he will be appearing on Sukira” ▶ YG speaks up
While YG spoke up about KBS 2FM’s boycott against them as being “unfair” to them.
A YG representative said on 18th September, “GDragon went on to KBS 2FM ‘Up The Volume’ for his first radio show programme,and 2NE1 also appear on Sukira – we have been on good terms with KBS radio, we are in shock and disbelief to have received such a notification from them. Even though we did receive requests for GDragon to go on Sukira, we did not 100% agree or promise that he will go on the show.”
Yang Hyun Seok also talked about this during an interview on 18th September, “We have clearly stated our stand that it is difficult to have GDragon on the radio show on 10th and 14th September. We have decided that it is not good to have GDragon talk too much about personal stuff and had decided that he will not go on radio shows.” He also stressed that GDragon has not gone on any other radio shows after the 2 radio shows he did at the beginning period of his solo debut.
He added, “To get boycotted by a broadcast company, isn’t the measures too harsh?”
But KBS 2FM had stated, “The boycott only appears on radio show, it has nothing to do with KBS TV.”
Meanwhile, GDragon will continue to appear on KBS Music Bank next week.

Jessica, "I didn't know Krystal would debut this fast"
9-girl group SNSD's Jessica(20) gave an encouraging message to her younger sister Krystal(15) who made her debut through the 5-girl rookie group f(x).
On the 15th, after the press conference about the production for the musical 'Legally Blonde' at the Seoul Samsungdong Coex Artium in the afternoon, Jessica showed her worries about her younger sister during the meeting with Star News.
"Krystal made her debut at a younger age than me. Making an early debut can be a good thing but I'm still worried" said Jessica, caring as a older sister, not as a senior singer.
"However, Krystal, being a strong girl, will do a good job"; "I also heard from manager oppa last year that she was doing great", said Jessica with a smile on her face.

Recently, with the issue between DBSG members and SM about sharing the income, Super Junior's story below will bring a warm feeling to you.
On the show MBC Every1 "Now it's time of handsome guys" which was aired on August 11th, MC Park Myungsoo had asked Super Junior's members Donghae & Sungmin, who attended that episode, about the profit sharing among SJ members.
Park Myungsoo said "Super Junior has 13 members, the member who has more activities will earn more, right? So do you guys have any difficulty with it, and how do you do about it?"
Super Junior Donghae said, "Although money is quite a sensitive topic, but we share the money with the members who earn less" and "(so that) they can use in case of necessity" which brought a warm feeling to the filming studio. Park Myungsoo said "it's such a good example" and praise the strong friendship among Super Junior members.
Netizens also show good response toward this "It's such a good example about team mates" and "While (everybody) continues to care about money, I feel relieved (after knowing this)."

Kim HyunJoong takes it off for Persona concert!
Group SS501 member Kim Hyun Joong has been given the nickname of ‘JjikJoong’ for his solo performance during SS501’s first Asian concert tour Persona held in Seoul on 1st and 2nd August.
For his solo performance, he put up a sexy choreography and then tore off his shirt showing his upper body in front of fans during the concert. And this has received overwhelming responses from fans, and fans are starting to call him ‘Jjikjoong (short for HyunJoong who tears off clothes)’.

The Philippines Love KPOP
I think we have quite a number of readers from philippines over here at super-kpop, so i thought you people might be interested in this.
Jessica Soho recently released a documentary in the Philippines about the KPOP craze that's currently brewing over there. For years, Korean dramas and movies have been very popular in The Philippines, but it's only recently that KPOP has been blowing up into the mainstream.
The first part of Soho's documentary features Sandara Park and her rise to fame. The much noted story about her less than stellar career in Korea, before becoming famous in The Philippines, and then her back in her own native Korea as a member of 2NE1. The first part also features The Wonder Girls and their hit song "Nobody."
The second part shows a crazed TVXQ / DBSK fan (Cassiopeia)... but not all is rosy in this documentary, as a Filipino by the name of Ramon del Rosario is angry that KPOP is somewhat taking away attention from Filipino artists. Overall, it was pretty entertaining to watch.

Celebrities are always asked what kind of person is their ideal type but it's always a little more interesting when they give a fellow celebrity as an example. Changmin of 2AM revealed that Kara's Kang Jiyoung is his ideal type. He confessed that his ideal type is "cute and kind. I especially like Kara's Kang Jiyoung," on a recently recorded "Star Golden Bell" (it will be aired on August 15th). You'd think it'd be possible for these two to hook up after being partners on MBC's Every1 Idol but Changmin continued, saying "I thought that it would be easy to get close because we're both idols, but we're more than 7 years apart."

Witness describes daesung's car accident
Big Bang DaeSung who was injured in a car accident on 11th August has left fans much worried and shocked. On MBC Section TV Entertainment News aired on 14th August, an interview with the witness to the accident was revealed. The witness has revealed his shock when he saw the car hitting up the guard rail and even caused a tree to uproot. An emergency officer Mr. Park said, “The car was damaged beyond recognition. The ceiling part to the car has also collapsed.” “The coordinator was in between the seats. Manager’s right arm was stuck in the damage and he was screaming in pain. DaeSung was taken to the management office. He was complaining of back pain, and blood was flowing from his nose, his own face continued to bleed.”
A witness at the hospital also provided, “He looked like he hurt his face a lot. It was bandaged.” It has been revealed that DaeSung will be undergoing an operation for his nose and eye area where there are fractions. And he will need 8 weeks of treatment.

S.M. Entertainment Co fell after several media reported on Saturday that members of Tong Bang Shin Gi (TVXQ), a South Korean boy band, filed an injunction in a Seoul court to terminate their contract with the talent agency.
'For investors, it's reasonable to worry over the news, since Tong Bang Shin Gi is one of the major sources of revenue for SM Entertainment,' said Kim Chang-kwon, an analyst at Daewoo Securities.
S.M. Entertainment could not be reached for a comment.
S.M. Entertainment shares fell 10.06 percent to 3,755 won as of 0141 GMT, while the junior Kosdaq rose 0.82 percent.

Idol group Dong Bang Shin Ki’s members Micky YooChun, Hero JaeJoong and Xiah JunSu finally revealed their stand about their problems with SM Entertainment.
Their representative revealed through news media on 3rd August, “The 5 years period after they debuted, the 3 of them felt that their minds and their bodies are tired having to follow the tight schedule that the company put up unilaterally.”
They continued, “Kim JunSu, Kim JaeJoong and Park YooChun have been following SM’s instruments from beginning of 2004 till now, going back and forth promoting in Korea, Japan, China etc, and in a year except for 1 week they get only 3-4 hours of sleep a day to do our schedule.”
Also, “In the process the health of the 3 members are very much deteriorated, they are also suffering from mental fatigue, and as time went SM continue to established on their own decision for Dong Bang Shin Ki to advance into other countries. In the end the 3 members felt that as compared to be fulfilling their dreams to be singers, they are used more as a tool by the compared to earn profits, and they wish to use each of the members to also go into other entertainers’ activities.”
The 3 members’ representative also added, “It is a 13 years contract but in reality it is a lifetime contract. With the exclusive rights clause in the contract, the 13 years also include the time the members are serving their military service, hence it will go for more than 15 years. And now it has not even been near to 10 years since the group’s debut, hence it seems like the contract will last until the members’ retirement from the entertainment zone. The penalty for retracting the exclusive right clause is 3 times the investment cost and 2 times the lost in earnings. They also asked about the penalty of cancelling the whole contract but it will involve several hundred billions KRW of penalty, hence in reality there is no way out but to be tied down to SM because of the contract.”
Also, “The members did not receive the right treatment even from SM. Without getting any contract fees, the initial contract was that if their album sells more than 500K copies, each member will get about 10 million KRW during the next album release. If they sell less than 500K copies of album, they will get nothing.”
The 3 members had went down to Seoul Central District Court to file for a retractile of their exclusive belonging rights with SM Entertainment on 31st July, causing an outrage of speculations about the group’s disbanding and also problems between the members and SM.

Is Hankyung’s contract termination request a publicity stunt?
When the scandal regarding Super Junior member Hankyung's request to terminate his contract with SM Entertainment broke out recently, the Korean and Chinese media immediately began scrambling to dig deeper into this issue and read between the lines.
ifeng.com recently held a poll to see how E.L.F members were taking the situation; an overwhelming number of people speculate that this is SME's attempt to create a succès de scandale to raise sales for Super Junior's upcoming concert.
According to the poll, approximately 80% of the fans believed that SM Entertainment had created this controversy in order to hype up Super Junior's upcoming concert in China on January 23, 2010 by conjuring a controversy around Super Junior's single Chinese member. Many don't buy into the coincidence that the tickets went on sale to the public on the 18th, a mere three days before the Hankyung scandal surfaced.
Personally, I have no opinion on the situation yet because there isn't enough information out... but at this point, what's your take on this matter - is Hankyung a victim of a slave contract, a marketing scheme or not a victim at all?

An honest confession: “At one time, I wanted to leave Super Junior”
Kim Heechul once wanted to leave Super Junior. They’re one of the mainstays of the pop industry and receive a lot of love, but he thought the group was like clothing that didn’t suit him.
“When I look back at the past several years, I was a really willful kid. I even kicked up a fuss over why I had to sing given that I debuted as an actor. It was a frequent occurrence to have to suddenly go onstage for Super Junior activities as I was shooting a drama. So I wanted to leave Super Junior. And it’s not like I’m an outstanding singer, truthfully…”
In the past few years, Kim Heechul has felt, “I want to quit being a singer and focus on acting.”
Unable to make up his mind, his relationships became estranged from the other members of Super Junior. The younger members began to look askance at their contrary hyung Heechul, and the distance grew between them.
But ah… the Super Junior members caused tears in the eyes of Kim Heechul, who describes himself as having been selfish.
“One day, I went to the practice studio after not going for a while because I was filming a drama, and the other members said, ‘Hyung, we set aside a spot for you when we practiced. He boasted, “Now the teamwork in Super Junior is the strongest in the world.” Perhaps that’s why when talking of his acting return, he also talks of his pride in the members along with his new project.

Mighty Mouth "We get strength whenever we're on stage with Nicole"
Mighty Mouth expressed their gratitude to their featuring partner, Kara's Nicole (Jung Nicole).
Nicole has been Mighty Mouth's third partner for their title track "Love class", since August 26th, and has since performed with them.

TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki members Xiah, Micky, and Jaejoong were trying to make efforts to resolve the issues with SM Entertainment behind the scenes but it seems all talks of coming to an agreement have broken apart. Korean Media Outlet Newsen recently had a phone conversation with the court overseeing the issue.
In the phone conversation, the court stated that it'll be all up to them to come up with the resolution as both sides despite talks of resolution, will not budge from their initial stances. They continued by stating that they're thoroughly reviewing all the papers, documents, and evidence given. After this thorough investigation, both parties will be notified of the decision. The Court stated that they don't know when exactly they'll come up with the decision but that it should be sometime this month.
As the talks have broken down, it seems there's no chance of resolution outside the courts. Hopefully the courts come up with a fair and firm decision

Big Bang GDragon has been labelled as a ‘herbivorous guy’.
GDragon did a test on how much of a ‘herbivorous guy’ he is on the show SBS Kim JungEun’s Chocolated aired on 19th September.
It has been known that GDragon has become the new representative of ‘herbivorous guy’ in the entertainment zone with his unique fashion sense.
GDragon was asked to answer a series of questions with ‘O’ or ‘X’ answer - “I have a lot of girl friends but there is no case of development into lovers”, “I can hold a computer dinner with alcohol’ etc. And most of his answers were ‘O’ and MC Kim JungEun has labelled him as a ‘perfect herbivorous guy’.

It's well known that TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki's Jaejoong is very popular with the ladies in Japan. Despite not being Japanese, he was in the top 10 ranking for the "Top 10 Artists You Want As Your Lover" poll and also awarded "The Top Prince in Japan." Now, he can add another title as one of Japan's most best looking artists.
On CDShop's Tsutaya Online there was a poll with the title "Most attractive Male Singer," Jaejoong came in second place with 23.9% (632,202) votes, only trailing Hotaka Yamashita (Ikimono Gakari) with 30.7% (810658) votes. Jaejoong wasn't the only TVXQ member with votes as his fellow bandmates were respectively ranked as well: Micky Yoochun at #11, Xiah Junsu at #27, Changmin at #32, and Yunho at #34. JYP's STATEMENT "2PM will continue with 6 members"
JYP finally made a statement on JYPE homepage :
I talked to JYPE staffs, 2PM members, and Jaebeom about our future plans. First of all, although many people have sent their encouraging words to Jaebeom, he hasn’t changed his mind; thinking he made a huge mistake. He said that he is still very sorry and too ashamed to be on the stage. He also told me that since other 2PM members have worked so hard, they should not be affected by this in any negative ways. That’s why he left 2PM so quickly.
I think the same way as Jaebeom. The reason why I didn't stop him from leaving is because I thought whether Jay being in 2PM or not now won’t be that big deal when you look at his life as a whole. Some think 4 years of his hard working has been destroyed, but his skills that were built up in 4 years are still remained in his body.
If Jaebeom receives a chance to grow up and become more mature by this incident, he will be able to fly even further later on. As criticism against Jay was way too harsh, requesting to revoke Jay's resignation is asking for too much as well. It’s my role to respect his opinion wanting to have his time alone apart from the stage, and help him later when he says he wants to be on the stage again.
I think you should give him supports by then. Again, I apologize for not being able to manage and protect him well. We'll try our best to not make this happen again

Big Bang - SNSD, No.1 popularity for male and female singers for the second half of the year
Big Bang and So Nyuh Shi Dae took the first places for the category of "singers" in an entertainer popularity ranking for the second half of the year.
From the 25th to the 31st of August, the results for the "Entertainer Popularity Survey" were determined by the Leespiar Research Institute with the participation of 1,320 males and females with an age range of 13~65 in 5 cities from around the country (metropolitan area, Busan, Daegu, Gwangju, Daejeon).

Super Junior arrives in Hong Kong; Kangin avoids the media
Super Junior arrived in Hong Kong yesterday in preparation of the Hong Kong leg of their Super Show 2 Live Tour, and Kangin who was involved in a case of drunken brawling did not appear at the press conference, even though he’d touched down together with the rest of his members.
Another member, Kibum, on the other hand, did not take part in the concert because of his injury.
During yesterday’s press conference, the media’s main focus was on what the other members felt about Kangin’s involvement in the drunken brawl case. Heechul, who donned a facemask throughout, replied that Super Junior will always work hard, and they thanked everyone for their concern.
Super Junior even showed off a few lines of Cantonese, in the spirit of doing as Romans do in Rome, but unfortunately no one could understand a word of what they were saying.
All 12 members will have their own special stages during the concert, and Ryeowook revealed that he would be cross-dressing as a woman, and Donghae will perform a song while riding on a bicycle.

KBS boycotts YG Entertainment – f(x) Sulli the reason behind it? (warning : extremely bad translation)
It has been known that YG Entertainment has been boycotted by KBS 2FM. The radio station will boycott all appearances by YG singers. This was sparked off by a sudden no-show by GDragon on Sukira on 15th September, and KBS 2FM had refused to play any YG singers’ song on the station for the whole of that day.
And it was questioned if the dispute between the YG Ent and KBS 2FM was due to GDragon mentioning f(x) Sulli in his earlier radio show appearance.
▶ Was f(x) Sulli the problem for no-show on radio show?
KBS 2FM said on 18th September, “On 15th September, with the sudden non-participation of GDragon for our radio show Sukira, we have gone against the trust given by listeners. With that we have decided to put a boycott against YG singers indefinitely.”
On the 15th itself, KBS 2FM did not aire any of the songs by YG singers.
There were originally plans for GDragon to appear on ‘Super Junior Kiss The Radio (Sukira)’ show, and the production team to Sukira said, “GDragon was originally set to appear on the show on 15th September, but they suddenly said that they will not have him on the show on the 10th. And even with the request of our team, they have broken their promise and did not let him go on the show.”
Even though Sukira’s production team has tried to persuade for GDragon to appear on the show by posting on their homepage, YG managers did not even apologise or give an explanation to GDragon’s no-show after that.
One of the producers said, “YG Ent said that when GDragon were asked the question “Which junior girlgroup singers do you think is the cutest?” and he answered f(x) Sulli on 9th September on one of the radio shows on 9th September, it became a problem and it is difficult to have him go on radio show. But in the schedule shared by GDragon and his fans, it was stated that he will be appearing on Sukira” ▶ YG speaks up
While YG spoke up about KBS 2FM’s boycott against them as being “unfair” to them.
A YG representative said on 18th September, “GDragon went on to KBS 2FM ‘Up The Volume’ for his first radio show programme,and 2NE1 also appear on Sukira – we have been on good terms with KBS radio, we are in shock and disbelief to have received such a notification from them. Even though we did receive requests for GDragon to go on Sukira, we did not 100% agree or promise that he will go on the show.”
Yang Hyun Seok also talked about this during an interview on 18th September, “We have clearly stated our stand that it is difficult to have GDragon on the radio show on 10th and 14th September. We have decided that it is not good to have GDragon talk too much about personal stuff and had decided that he will not go on radio shows.” He also stressed that GDragon has not gone on any other radio shows after the 2 radio shows he did at the beginning period of his solo debut.
He added, “To get boycotted by a broadcast company, isn’t the measures too harsh?”
But KBS 2FM had stated, “The boycott only appears on radio show, it has nothing to do with KBS TV.”
Meanwhile, GDragon will continue to appear on KBS Music Bank next week.

Jessica, "I didn't know Krystal would debut this fast"
9-girl group SNSD's Jessica(20) gave an encouraging message to her younger sister Krystal(15) who made her debut through the 5-girl rookie group f(x).
On the 15th, after the press conference about the production for the musical 'Legally Blonde' at the Seoul Samsungdong Coex Artium in the afternoon, Jessica showed her worries about her younger sister during the meeting with Star News.
"Krystal made her debut at a younger age than me. Making an early debut can be a good thing but I'm still worried" said Jessica, caring as a older sister, not as a senior singer.
"However, Krystal, being a strong girl, will do a good job"; "I also heard from manager oppa last year that she was doing great", said Jessica with a smile on her face.
Then she said, "Actually, before I started my activities, I didn't have time to spend with her so I didn't know she could sing, dance and talk so well like that"; "Learning/practicing dance and sing in a fast time to the point of being capable of debuting already never crossed my mind", feeling proud.

Recently, with the issue between DBSG members and SM about sharing the income, Super Junior's story below will bring a warm feeling to you.
On the show MBC Every1 "Now it's time of handsome guys" which was aired on August 11th, MC Park Myungsoo had asked Super Junior's members Donghae & Sungmin, who attended that episode, about the profit sharing among SJ members.
Park Myungsoo said "Super Junior has 13 members, the member who has more activities will earn more, right? So do you guys have any difficulty with it, and how do you do about it?"
Super Junior Donghae said, "Although money is quite a sensitive topic, but we share the money with the members who earn less" and "(so that) they can use in case of necessity" which brought a warm feeling to the filming studio. Park Myungsoo said "it's such a good example" and praise the strong friendship among Super Junior members.

Kim HyunJoong takes it off for Persona concert!
Group SS501 member Kim Hyun Joong has been given the nickname of ‘JjikJoong’ for his solo performance during SS501’s first Asian concert tour Persona held in Seoul on 1st and 2nd August.
For his solo performance, he put up a sexy choreography and then tore off his shirt showing his upper body in front of fans during the concert. And this has received overwhelming responses from fans, and fans are starting to call him ‘Jjikjoong (short for HyunJoong who tears off clothes)’.
And various ‘JjikJoong’ videos are also uploaded and circulated on discussion boards and blogs after that. Fans are also a little disappointed after knowing that HyunJoong continued with the ‘JjikJoong’ act for their Japan Budokan performance on 13th August.
Fans said, “Is he going to do that for all the countries they are performing in?”, “It is a shame we have to share such a moment with fans in other countries as well” etc.
Meanwhile, SS501 will comeback with their 2nd album middle of next month. They will continue with their concert tour in October to countries like Thialand, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, HongKong and China.

Fortune teller , again and again!
2PM members gets their palm lines read by fortune teller!
For the recent Y-Star special edition of ‘Let’s see 2PM’s palm lines’, the 2PM members reveals their palm line and through a fortuneteller, they talked about what each 2PM members’ palm line mean, what are their future destinies and also their current personalities.
About JunSu’s palm line, the fortune teller said, “He wants to be a singer, wants to be a talent, wants to do MC too” pointing to the fact that he would be able to succeed as a multitainer.
And Nich Khun’s palm is one that one would appear in 1 out of 100 to 200 people, “Original makjwingeum (containing many forms of palm lines). Very detailed and kind person.”
The fortuneteller talks about WooYoung’s palm lines, “He is a gentleman and his style is someone who would treat the girl very well. And his ‘brain line’ is especially long, he has good brains.”
But on the other hand, JaeBum was “He is a the type who is popular amongst girls, ‘Casanova type’, since his 4th finger’s joints are of the same length. Very passionate person.”

The Philippines Love KPOP
I think we have quite a number of readers from philippines over here at super-kpop, so i thought you people might be interested in this.
Jessica Soho recently released a documentary in the Philippines about the KPOP craze that's currently brewing over there. For years, Korean dramas and movies have been very popular in The Philippines, but it's only recently that KPOP has been blowing up into the mainstream.
The first part of Soho's documentary features Sandara Park and her rise to fame. The much noted story about her less than stellar career in Korea, before becoming famous in The Philippines, and then her back in her own native Korea as a member of 2NE1. The first part also features The Wonder Girls and their hit song "Nobody."
The second part shows a crazed TVXQ / DBSK fan (Cassiopeia)... but not all is rosy in this documentary, as a Filipino by the name of Ramon del Rosario is angry that KPOP is somewhat taking away attention from Filipino artists. Overall, it was pretty entertaining to watch.

Jessica, SNSD Member with the Most Appealing Features to Chinese Men
Chinese beauty girl Eun Dongleung stated, "Out of all the SNSD members, I think Jessica has the most appealing features to Chinese men."
On August 10th, a number of beautiful women from around the world known as the 'global beauty girls' appeared on the summer special of KBS 2TV 'Mi Su Da,' where they had the opportunity to meet the members of SNSD at Incheon during a World City Festival. On this day, the global beauty girls commented on how happy they are right now because they "always wanted to meet the members of SNSD."
When MC Nam Heesuk asked the question, "Which SNSD member is most popular in China?" Eun Dongleung chose Jessica and commented, "Chinese men are most attracted to 'foxy' looking women." Jessica laughed, "I’ve been told I look like a fox a few times."
MC Nam Heesuk exclaimed at Eun Dongleung’s comment, "Being popular in China means that over 700 million people likes you."

Jiyoung is 2AM's Changmin Ideal Girl
Celebrities are always asked what kind of person is their ideal type but it's always a little more interesting when they give a fellow celebrity as an example. Changmin of 2AM revealed that Kara's Kang Jiyoung is his ideal type. He confessed that his ideal type is "cute and kind. I especially like Kara's Kang Jiyoung," on a recently recorded "Star Golden Bell" (it will be aired on August 15th). You'd think it'd be possible for these two to hook up after being partners on MBC's Every1 Idol but Changmin continued, saying "I thought that it would be easy to get close because we're both idols, but we're more than 7 years apart."
Heheh, 7 years really is a bit far apart. And I find it :S to see Changmin calling himself an idol. Idol? Really Changmin? Still, I cant wait for the star studded episode of SGB!

Witness describes daesung's car accident
Big Bang DaeSung who was injured in a car accident on 11th August has left fans much worried and shocked. On MBC Section TV Entertainment News aired on 14th August, an interview with the witness to the accident was revealed. The witness has revealed his shock when he saw the car hitting up the guard rail and even caused a tree to uproot. An emergency officer Mr. Park said, “The car was damaged beyond recognition. The ceiling part to the car has also collapsed.” “The coordinator was in between the seats. Manager’s right arm was stuck in the damage and he was screaming in pain. DaeSung was taken to the management office. He was complaining of back pain, and blood was flowing from his nose, his own face continued to bleed.”
A witness at the hospital also provided, “He looked like he hurt his face a lot. It was bandaged.” It has been revealed that DaeSung will be undergoing an operation for his nose and eye area where there are fractions. And he will need 8 weeks of treatment.
Oh, operation on the face. i guess he needs it with or without the accident. Anyway, thank god he was safe. Get well soon daesung!
S.M. Entertainment Co fell after several media reported on Saturday that members of Tong Bang Shin Gi (TVXQ), a South Korean boy band, filed an injunction in a Seoul court to terminate their contract with the talent agency.
'For investors, it's reasonable to worry over the news, since Tong Bang Shin Gi is one of the major sources of revenue for SM Entertainment,' said Kim Chang-kwon, an analyst at Daewoo Securities.
S.M. Entertainment could not be reached for a comment.
S.M. Entertainment shares fell 10.06 percent to 3,755 won as of 0141 GMT, while the junior Kosdaq rose 0.82 percent.

Idol group Dong Bang Shin Ki’s members Micky YooChun, Hero JaeJoong and Xiah JunSu finally revealed their stand about their problems with SM Entertainment.
Their representative revealed through news media on 3rd August, “The 5 years period after they debuted, the 3 of them felt that their minds and their bodies are tired having to follow the tight schedule that the company put up unilaterally.”
They continued, “Kim JunSu, Kim JaeJoong and Park YooChun have been following SM’s instruments from beginning of 2004 till now, going back and forth promoting in Korea, Japan, China etc, and in a year except for 1 week they get only 3-4 hours of sleep a day to do our schedule.”
Also, “In the process the health of the 3 members are very much deteriorated, they are also suffering from mental fatigue, and as time went SM continue to established on their own decision for Dong Bang Shin Ki to advance into other countries. In the end the 3 members felt that as compared to be fulfilling their dreams to be singers, they are used more as a tool by the compared to earn profits, and they wish to use each of the members to also go into other entertainers’ activities.”
The 3 members’ representative also added, “It is a 13 years contract but in reality it is a lifetime contract. With the exclusive rights clause in the contract, the 13 years also include the time the members are serving their military service, hence it will go for more than 15 years. And now it has not even been near to 10 years since the group’s debut, hence it seems like the contract will last until the members’ retirement from the entertainment zone. The penalty for retracting the exclusive right clause is 3 times the investment cost and 2 times the lost in earnings. They also asked about the penalty of cancelling the whole contract but it will involve several hundred billions KRW of penalty, hence in reality there is no way out but to be tied down to SM because of the contract.”
Also, “The members did not receive the right treatment even from SM. Without getting any contract fees, the initial contract was that if their album sells more than 500K copies, each member will get about 10 million KRW during the next album release. If they sell less than 500K copies of album, they will get nothing.”
The 3 members had went down to Seoul Central District Court to file for a retractile of their exclusive belonging rights with SM Entertainment on 31st July, causing an outrage of speculations about the group’s disbanding and also problems between the members and SM.
MADNESS! I feel very very bad for them. The worst thing is they can't levae the SM. And I bet SuJu, SNSD, SHINee are going through the same shit just that they arent as big as TVXQ to sue them.
And I read comments saying that soon Cassies are gna burn down SME or something. LOL! I mean, its SM vs TVXQ+ CASSIES! And you know how those cassies are, where are they anyway?
Maybe they can be like SHINHWA and change companies, but it would be hard. It took Shinhwa damn long before they could leave SM as well.
